The Research Behind It
You can't train what
you're not aware of.
A decade of research with 1,000+ golfers revealed something surprising: the difference between consistent and inconsistent players isn't technical — it's a set of mental patterns including focus, conviction, resilience, and the ability to let go of a bad shot.
Good golfers develop these patterns through years of unconscious trial and error. Most never discover which mental habits are costing them strokes — because nobody has mapped it for them. Until now.
"I never hit a shot, even in practice, without having a very sharp, in-focus picture of it in my head. It's like a color movie."
— Jack Nicklaus
The Core Framework
Every shot. Eight steps.
One complete routine.
Just as every golfer has a physical pre-shot routine, there is a mental routine that should accompany every single shot. The assessment measures how consistently and completely you execute each of these eight steps.
01
Focus
Determine your target area, select the club, assess wind and lie. Visualise ball flight and landing. Establish exactly what you want to achieve — and ensure it is realistic.
02
Concentration
One task only: ball to target. Block out all irrelevant thoughts — the previous shot, the scoreboard, what your playing partner is doing. Total single-point attention.
03
Conviction
I want it, I can do it, I will do it — with full commitment. Without genuine conviction, the shot is already compromised before the club moves. Doubt is not neutral.
04
Performance
Execute with everything you have. Your preparation is complete. The only job now is to do what you intended — fluidly, without reservation, without holding back.
05
Evaluation
Observe the full outcome: ball flight, contact feel, landing, roll, final position. Gather the data. Compare it to what you intended. This is the foundation of improvement.
06
Acceptance
It is what it is. The shot is done. Process your emotion — good or bad — give it its place, then move on. Unprocessed emotion contaminates the next shot.
07
Analysis
What deviated, and what caused it? Was it technical or mental? Make a brief mental note. You do not need to solve everything now — just name the primary cause and set it aside.
08
Learning Transfer
Store what you've learned for after the round. Not mid-hole. This closes the loop and transforms experience into lasting improvement — without disrupting your next shot.
The first five steps happen before and during execution — the last three happen in your head as you put the club away. Most golfers skip at least two or three. The assessment tells you exactly which steps you're skipping.
The Process
Three steps to a
stronger mental game
Step 01
Assessment
Complete the digital questionnaire — a structured set of questions that maps your mental profile across all 8 routine steps and 6 key areas: your body, your mind, your routine, your decisions, your response to pressure, and how you practise. Takes 15–25 minutes.
Step 02
Your Report
Receive a detailed PDF report (12–20 pages) with your scores across all 8 routine factors and 6 psychological dimensions, plain-language explanations of what each score means for your game, and specific recommendations for which factors to prioritise. Yours to keep and return to.
Step 03
Take Action
Use your included training reports to work on specific elements in your profile — each one a personalised 5-page PDF targeting a low score or building on a strength. Standard includes 4–6, Deluxe includes 9–14.
Your responses are processed confidentially and never shared with third parties.
Working with a coach or sports psychologist? Your report gives them an objective starting point — and saves valuable session time. What Gets Measured
Your mental profile
across six dimensions
Your body, your mind, your routine, your decisions, your response to pressure, and how you practise — six areas that together determine how well you play. The assessment maps exactly where you stand in each, compared to golfers at your level.
Most golfers have one or two areas where targeted improvement is possible — often in places they never realised were holding them back.
"Success in golf depends less on strength of body than upon strength of mind and character."
— Arnold Palmer
Physical Self-Management
Body confidence and energy management across a full round
e.g. Hole 15 — your energy and focus are fading. How well do you manage that?
Mental Condition
Stress resilience, conviction, and mental stamina
e.g. Double bogey on hole 7 — how quickly does your conviction come back?
Mental Routine Mastery
How completely you execute all 8 steps on every shot
e.g. Poor drive — do you complete all post-shot steps, or shortcut straight to the next hole?
Risk Management
Risk awareness, appetite, and calculated decision-making
e.g. Flag tucked behind a bunker — do you attack, or play to the fat of the green?
Pressure Management
How effectively you regulate your response to competitive and self-imposed pressure
e.g. One up stepping onto the 18th tee — what goes through your mind?
Practice Quality
Motivation and deliberateness in how you train
e.g. At the range — do you practise with a clear purpose, or just hit balls until the bucket is empty?
Why It Works
Data-driven development.
Not guesswork.
Objectively measured
Not based on how you feel about your game — based on your structured responses to a validated questionnaire. No gut feeling, no coach's interpretation.
Personalised to you
Your report reflects your mental game, not a generic golfer's. Every recommendation targets the specific dimensions where your profile shows room to improve.
On your terms
Do most of the work yourself, at your own pace. And if you hit a wall — take your report to your coach, teaching pro, or sports psychologist for targeted guidance.
Designed for you, not the average golfer
Generic tips improve the average golfer. This improves you — by targeting the specific dimensions where your mental profile shows the biggest gaps.
